Creative E-Store Merchandise

When Klixxx Magazine asked me to write an article on creative and unusual E-merchandise, I knew that this would be a fun topic to research! I've separated all these interesting and unusual items into categories. Some of them are glamorous, others are delicious, some are innocent fun, and some of them are quite frankly -- downright kinky! This compilation is by no means a complete list. I'm just here to share the fun E-Stores that I know about...
Adult Sites
Danni's Hard Drive has two unique features on the site, the "Naked Joke of the Week" and the "Virtual Lap Dance." The virtual lap dance is particularly intriguing, as visitors can see many well-known models performing in a very unique fashion. Danni's has a bevy of beautiful models and puts out a lot of content every week, and have set the standard for auctioning the wardrobes from each shoot.
Art
This is a lucrative concept some photographers might want to consider. A model arrives at the studio camera-ready to take a series of reference photos. These photos are transferred to a large canvas and custom hand-painted with oil. The award winning artist Tim Siahatgar adds extra details to the painting that make the finished product very special. This is not Price Club "photos on canvas" quality. These are highly detailed individual brushstrokes - An oil portrait to showcase on a floor length easel next to the grand piano...

Celebrity Games
I think this kind of merchandise would be fun on many adult model Web sites - photos of your favorite celebrity model in a variety of games (www.celebritygames.com). The game "Mixed" is block-shaped pieces of the photo, scrambled. The object of the game is to rearrange the pieces until the photo comes out correctly. It sounds like a puzzle, yet there are no irregular pieces to fit together. The pieces are all the same shape. It's an easy game for a regular face photo. I thought that if an adult Web model were to do this, they could use an action photo, and rearranging it correctly would reveal what the action was about. Another fun game is called "falling colors." There are sheer colored blocks over a photo. The object is to remove all the blocks to reveal the photo underneath.
Magazines
The best new magazine to come out in print is Mirror Mirror Magazine, which premiered in March 2003 (www.mirrormirrormag.com). Say that fast! In the editor's words, he is focused on the "Four Fs" - Fashion, Fantasy, Fun, and Fetish. The first issue features the stylish Icon, Dita Von Teese. I will be featured as a ninja dominatrix on the May 2003 Cover. The talented Akira Lane will be gracing the July cover, as a sweet schoolgirl, and the sensational Linda O'Neil will be on the following cover in a high-fashion photo spread. You open a page, and who knows what you'll get?
Model E-Stores
Here is something I don't see every day. Akira Lane (www.akiralane.com) sells her retired members' galleries on CD. She tells me that the archives sell steadily and appeal to people who have just "discovered" her site, and want to collect all her pictures. Akira offers extensive pictures and videos, but tells me that her custom photo and video are the most popular. At prices starting at $150.00, she produces custom images or videos specific to the client's fantasy.
Lingerie
My favorite erotic lingerie and costumes can be found at www.eroticcostumes.com. They have the best selection and highest quality for the price. Two costumes I've got my eye on? ...The Admiral costume, and the FBI Girl costume. Don't wear it to the supermarket! My favorite hosiery is available at www.passhosiery.com. I've modeled for their hosiery packaging, etc., and they have an eclectic and scintillating selection - Everything from silk wedding hose for brides, to fishnet stay-up stockings with sequins - made in men's sizes! Yes, because some men wear them too! Do you want to buy striped stockings and be fitted into a harness and ridden like a horse? Does your big hulking boyfriend fantasize about wearing a red silk body stocking in his size? This is where to shop! If you can imagine it; then they have already mass-produced it, in multiple sizes and colors!
However creative or unique your E-merchandise may be, customer service and integrity are absolutely necessary if you are going to have a successful online store. This is particularly true for online sales, as your customer has sent you his or her hard-earned money, and will naturally be concerned about the transaction until it is completed. Be sure to communicate with your client. Acknowledge the order, and advise them when the product is shipped. Repeat business is the foundation of every successful business, and timely delivery and good communication with your customer will help separate you from the rest of the pack. I once heard an old adage that should be taken to heart, "the hardest thing in business is to gain a customer, and the second hardest thing to do is keep the customer."
