A Traffic Powerhouse: Greenguy, Link-o-Rama.com

When most people think of Greenguy... they think of Link-o-rama.com, "the" link list and adult traffic powerhouse of the Internet. But... there's much more to the "Great Green One" than meets the eye. In addition to being an undisputed leader in link list traffic, Greenguy also owns and runs an amateur pay site, an affiliate program - and most recently, a brand new resource site and message board! Klixxx Magazine was thrilled to get a few precious hours of Greenguy's time to talk about his new ventures, successes and plans for the future.
An online guru, and a strong influence in the adult Internet community since the mid-1990s, Greenguy started his now-famous Link-o-rama.com Web site in June of 1996. He credits much of his success to just being in the right place at the right time, yet there's much more to this industry leader who donates much of his time to helping other webmasters find success. Despite the way he shrugs off his accomplishments - much credit for the successful state of our industry must be given to this hard-working, creative and innovative webmaster. Let's take a peek into the world of the Greenguy...
Klixxx: Thanks so much for taking time from your busy schedule to meet with Klixxx. With so many projects and programs under your belt, how hard is it to "switch gears" between the traffic biz, the pay site biz and the resource biz?
Greenguy: It's not that hard actually. I don't think of it as doing separate jobs, just different tasks in my normal work day. Part of my day is reviewing links, part of my day is reading and answering the message board - and part of my day is running the pay site.
Klixxx: How did you become involved with the amateur market? In what capacity do you work on AnneLovesGreenguy.com?
Greenguy: I started an amateur site because I'm not a big fan of the airbrushed blonde bombshells with big fake tits and perfect asses. I love the "girl next door" look, and I love naked pictures of women of all shapes, sizes and legal ages. My wife and I decided to start taking pics of amateur ladies, couples and lesbians, and then RealSexyAmateurs.com was born.
I've been friends with Anne for awhile, and when she suggested we combine my "mega amateur" site with her "personal girl" amateur girl site - I thought it was a great idea. As far as what I do on the site, I handle the updates and promotion. Anne's in charge of the finances, her Web cam and pics/movies, and we both handle all the other tasks, such as member questions and whatnot. It's truly a joint effort.
Klixxx: How does the amateur "world" of the adult industry differ from what webmasters generally see or think of when they think of adult content?
Greenguy: It's not that amateur is different - it's more that it's a mirror of everything else. For whatever category or niche you can think of in the general adult content world, you can easily throw the word "amateur" in front of it and it would make complete sense. For example: cum shots becomes amateur cum shots, bondage becomes amateur bondage, etc. I've found that the promotion of an amateur site is not so much different from regular sites, but the manner in which it is promoted is very different. There're a lot of true "friends" links in the amateur community, which is a nice thing to see.
