February 2007 ...And the Beat Goes On...
Walking into Internext Las Vegas V.2 last month, I got a feeling of déjà vu... not heralding the old days of show floor madness and mayhem, but instead the collegial feel of the Internext Summer shows at the Diplomat. Finally, the Vegas show had that feeling of community it never had; a feeling the summer show has always had, and what makes it an annual favorite. I was speaking to industry attorney Joe Obenberger who presented a fine seminar on 2257 regulations, and he told me he was speaking to so many new people at V.2.. I was operating in the old mindset and thinking I hadn't seen many newbies, and then of course I recognized the difference in this show... they weren’t newbies in the classic sense in which we characterize them; they were educated, new entrants with business plans asking all the right questions...
