How long have you been in the online industry?
I started in 1998, creating TGP's and link list sites, as many of my fellow webmasters began. Once I started making money, I knew this was what I wanted to do. I love a challenge and the Internet is most definitely a challenge. The opportunities to make money are endless. The Internet has been a bumpy ride, but a very lucrative one for me.
What did you do before Herbal Commerce - and how did your previous experience influence the way you do business today?
1998 was a great year for starting in this industry. The search engines were easy and I created lots of AVS sites. When I realized I could make money in the Adult industry, I branched out and began creating TGPs and link list sites. I decided to stay in Adult because it was an opportunity to earn enough money to support the lifestyle I wanted. Webmaster Commerce was launched in 2000. It was one of the first and biggest dialer sites in the industry.
As I continue in this business, I am influenced by the changes I've seen. There are so many ways to make money in this industry. Just attend some trade shows and you can see the entrepreneurial spirit webmasters have. If it's been done before, they will find a way to capitalize on the idea. If it hasn't been done, someone will do it. There are endless opportunities for the webmaster who wants to make big bucks. I love fast cars, so I knew I had to earn a lot. The Internet provides me with all kinds of earning potential. It's important, however, to research the trends and then strike when it's ripe.
What is HerbalCommerce.com - is it a typical affiliate program?
I am very excited about Herbal Commerce. I've been very fortunate, in that, I've had great success with my programs. Herbal Commerce has performed beyond even my expectations and continues to grow daily. I believe in diverse income. Because the Internet is filled with varied opportunities for sales, each webmaster should consider alternative ways to make money. Whether a webmaster is filling a pay site with products for upsell or has his/her own retail store, it's a good idea to appeal to any and all needs the surfer/member wants. I truly think this industry is evolving; and, as it does, changes will occur that makes it imperative for the webmaster to incorporate many and varied methods of earning potential, rather than only selling one item. Look what happened to dialers. While they are making a comeback now, there was a time when the decreased income hurt webmasters who concentrated only on dialers. I always recommend selling more than one product. Herbals offer a fantastic income opportunity for almost anyone.
Everyone is talking about retention these days - do you get return sales from product customers very often?
Our products sell very well. The research has shown us how to label and advertise in such a way that multiple bottle sales are not uncommon. Repeat customers are a very real factor in the herbal industry; plus, chargebacks and returns are at a minimum.
Tell us about the products that you sell on Herbal Commerce - what are your best sellers?
We currently have 9 great selling products with many many more on the way in the near future. From penis enlargement to weight loss management and everything in between. In all truth, all of our products sell well. Seasonally, there is more interest in certain products, such as weight loss and penis enlargement; but, overall, IGF2 out performs everything we have, so far. I don't know what that says about the male anatomy or their lack of confidence; but, considering I'm male, I'm pleased that our products help out my fellow man.
What about FDA Compliance and other government regulations - is selling herbal products safe for webmasters?
The FDA doesn't really have any jurisdiction over herbals, but there are certain guidelines that we still have to follow. And we do - to a "T." Selling herbals is safe for webmasters, mostly because we stay within FDA guidelines. You also have to consider that many surfers have a long-standing mistrust of the medical profession and a dislike for taking 'drugs'. Our herbals meet a real need for those who want to improve their lives without seeking medical attention. The ingredients in our products are well thought out and researched thoroughly. Before they ever reach the consumer market, they are tested and pronounced safe for humans.
Every area of this industry is going through changes - what positive changes do you feel are coming soon, and how will they improve the way we all do business?
I am thrilled that the Internet is going to be regulated, in terms of giving the consumer what is promised. I think selling herbals is going to be around for a long time, with more products being offered. With regulations and rules, the Internet will become a safer, more secure place for consumers to shop, which I believe, will increase sales. Getting rid of those whose business practices are suspect can only benefit those of us who are legitimately offering the surfer a place to buy product, without being scammed or 'taken'. For Herbal Commerce, it means an increase in profits for webmasters. That's a good thing.
