How did you get your nickname - Slick Rick?
At the bar I hung out at in my "drinking days." The barmaid gave me the name, and everyone started calling me that, and it stuck with me.
When did you start working on the adult Internet?
I started in this industry some time in '96, with a little site promoting a phone sex line I had purchased.
How did you get your start in the adult industry? Free sites? Pay sites?
I placed an ad seeking work as a Web designer in my local newspaper - and was contacted by a client wanting an adult site. After building his site and all the info he gave me, I decided to go it alone.
What is the Pump-Room.com? What kind of site is it - what do you offer?
Pump-Room.com is a link list to other Free, AVS, and Pay sites, as well as some free gallery sites that we offer.
You've just recently launched Pump-Room-Pays.com - can you tell us about it?
Pump-Room-Pays.com is an adult mega site. We offer something for everyone's taste. High quality ebony, Asian, amateur, trannie, gay, lesbian, porn star, legal teen girls, fetish, and bondage content.
You offer a lot of niche-based options, what would you say is your best-selling niche?
I'd have to say that hardcore is my best-selling niche, for the time being, but it changes so much.
The industry has changed a lot over the years - what is one positive change that you have seen since you got started?
There are a lot more options, and information is more readily available.
What are some of your goals for Pump-Room-Pays? Anything new coming down the line?
I'd have to say our goal is to gather our own group of models/talent for exclusive photo shoots for Pump-Room-Pays.com. As far as what I have down the line. I want to be able to offer content to other webmasters when they join the Pump-Room-Pays program. And maybe some day Jenna Jameson, Aria Giovanni, Chloe Jones, Sylvia Saint, and Racquel Darrian would come knocking on my door to shoot with us.
If you could start over today - what would you do differently from what you did the first time around?
I wouldn't change a thing. I'm very happy with the success of Pump-Room and Pump-Room-Pays, and I couldn't be more pleased with its loyal surfers.
Where do you see the adult industry a year from now - or even two years? Do you think anything will change?
Well, with the tighter policies that the credit card companies are somewhat enforcing, there will be other options, better opportunities for webmasters to make money. It is just natural nowadays that we have to take one step back to take two steps forward.
