Can you tell us a little bit about PimpCafe.com, what it does and what it offers to webmasters - how is it different from other resources?
Pimp Café is unique in that we have our Board Watch feature, which allows you to surf a central area of over 33 boards. We also have an email notification feature, which based on your settings you will be emailed every thread matching your keyword or board you are tracking. It is an invaluable tool that is free to webmasters, and marketing professionals that want to have a central place to check out everything going on in the industry.
Platinum Bucks has been moving toward a lot of webmaster support programs such as PornoJunkies.com, the webmaster message board, and now Pimp Café - are there any other plans to work with webmasters in additional areas?
The latest medium for advertising and PR has been the boards, it is a way to express ourselves and really hear the voices of the industry , they recognized this very early on and created Porno Junkies, and have been very successful with their efforts there, it is a thriving community!
When they were discussing the Pimp Café purchase, they found the Board Watch and notification features to be a key benefit for the webmasters. Not too mention the site is very nicely laid out and has many interesting features; Search Engine Submission, Who Is Look Up, Anti Hot Linking tools, Press Release Syndication Network, daily news and a sophisticated directory listing which with a reciprocal banner your listing moves up in ranking based on traffic sent to the site.
As always, Platinum Bucks looks for ways to help the webmaster albeit; new resource sites, new affiliate programs, promotional opportunities, they are always creating new ways for us to grow within the e-commerce market. And yes, we have many exciting things coming up! My lips are sealed though until we get further along in development.
What are your goals with the development of Pimp Café?
Our goals are to create content that is different from the others, and will set us apart from other resource sites.
We are working on gaining more and more exposure through articles, and strategic relationships, and also working with special people to learn more about what webmasters want from a resource site.
How can businesses get listed in Pimp Café and what are the benefits of being listed with this site?
You can simply go to www.pimpcafe.com and click on our "Add Link" button in the header, fill out all your information and submit it. It will be approved within 12-14 hours. With over 400-500 unique webmasters visiting our site, it is excellent exposure. We receive about 100,000 ad views per day, and with the promotional efforts on all our other products the traffic has soared since we first purchased it. So it is definitely worth while to get listed, and I believe in saturating your name, so I put my link anywhere and everywhere. Guerilla PR at it's finest!
What do you like best about working in this industry - what do you look forward to doing - or enjoy doing - the most?
What I like best about this industry is there is never a dull moment. I am constantly learning something new, and being challenged in my job. I look forward to what each day brings me in this industry and as I said it is ever changing and evolving, I can't think of anything more exciting than that.
Industry gatherings/events - how important do you feel they are to the success of a business or a webmaster?
I believe you really can't put a value on that. I think they are very important. You definitely have to be aggressive at the shows, and talk to people, following up is the key after the show. The shows are really what you make of them, IMO.
What advice would you give to a new web entrepreneur getting started today?
What - more competition? I would say persistence, be persistent, be professional and get your name out there. And list yourself on Pimp Café.
What do you think is the most important element necessary to build a successful website or web program?
Base Traffic.
Websites change, trends change, niches change, traffic should stay steady. I know people that have great websites, great programs but no traffic. So I think it is a necessity to have some sort of base traffic, knowledge or potential clients to get your base.
What changes would you like to see happen in the adult industry - and why?
I'd like to see us try and set out our own laws, and police our own business because if we don't it is going to happen by someone else we may not agree with. We need to set our own standards, and unfortunately, we really don't have a "voice" to speak for us all. It would be nice if we had a "spokesperson" for the internet side we all could agree with and could go to bat for us on political and social issues.
Is it different to work with webmasters in a resource capacity compared to an affiliate program point of view?
I don't think so, webmasters promoting an affiliate program may need more support but otherwise it is no different, they are a client and they need support. Period.
